La ruta de los contrabandistas

Militaria / Planeta 2009
Shortly before the military uprising on July 18, 1936, conspiracies against the Workers’ Republic were brewing in Barcelona’s barracks and corporate offices.

Manfred Vogel, an agent of the German secret services, arrives in the city with the mission of setting up a spy network. But when the rebellion erupts in Barcelona, Lieutenant José Bravo, his man, is among the first to fall.

By chance, Vogel then stumbles upon the unexpected alliance of Eulalia Romá, the very young widow of Bravo. Vogel takes it upon himself to train her and exploit her friendship with a young smuggler skilled in the border crossings to Andorra.

Eulalia Romá becomes an undercover agent in the Republican rear, both ruthless and naive, willing to sacrifice everything in service of the rebellious military and the Germany Vogel represents.
