Muerte de Atlante

Algaida 2014

The novel opens with a femicide at sea. Nurse Fernanda Cuadrado is found dead in her cabin during an expedition organized by an audiovisual content production company. The purpose of the trip, led by Adrián Márquez as director, is to film a documentary about a peculiar underwater formation somewhere in the Atlantic Ocean near the Bahamas—a discovery that could be linked to the mythical lost continent of Atlantis.

The narrative follows two tormented male protagonists, Adrián and Bernardo, alternating between their respective points of view. After Fernanda’s body is discovered, the ship sails toward a horizon of violence and horror, driven by the sinister psychological unraveling of its crew, against the backdrop of a civilization oscillating between dazzling technological advances and a dark nihilism tinged with apocalyptic omens.
