Javier Santolobo

Javier Santolobo is a writer, screenwriter, and journalist, author of the Corazones de Hierro series—a landmark in self-published middle-grade science fiction that has captivated hundreds of thousands of readers around the world—and its sequel, Leyendas de Hierro.

In 2026, he made the leap into contemporary dark Young Adult fantasy with Fatum, the first book in the Arcanos duology. He is also the author of the children’s book El tesoro del Rey Solo, illustrated by Tamara Durán.

As a screenwriter, he has written the feature film Nada será igual (with Pepe Gutiérrez and David Castillo, directed by Víctor Antolí, 2019); the multi-award-winning medium-length film Dos monedas (directed by Felipe Giuliano, 2023), which won Best Short Film, Best Art Direction, and Best Cinematography at the 2024 Malta Film Festival, and Best Fantasy Short Film Award at the 2025 NRFF Dreamers of Dreams Festival in London; and the short film CLAC CLAC CLAC (Mª Teresa García, 2018), which won Best Screenplay, the Audience Award, and the AAMMA Award at the Cinejoven Film and Television Festival (2018). He was also one of the winners of the 2018 edition of the Dama Screenwriters’ Association for the feature film María debe morir.
