Camilo Cienfuegos was a charismatic revolutionary who became friends with Fidel Castro when protests began to overthrow Fulgencio Batista’s dictatorship. Always faithful to the ideals of the Revolution, Cienfuegos fought alongside Fidel, Raúl, and Che Guevara, earning the admiration of the Cuban people through his humility and honesty.
After winning several battles, the rivalry between Camilo and Fidel grew, and their ideals began to diverge. Camilo’s pacifist ideas won him the affection of the people, but Castro’s ambition for absolute power and a secret envy of his loyal friend would erase him from history.
When, fearing the intentions of the Castros, Camilo decided to go into exile, a tragic accident made him vanish from the map. Some believe that the plane he was traveling on back to Havana, after attending Fidel’s last orders, was shot down by a missile. The truth is that no trace remained of him or of the alleged witnesses to the accident. Will the truth ever be known?
