Gracia San Sebastián, a financial fraud investigator, becomes entangled in the disappearance of Imelda, a young psychologist who is found dead a few days later on the train tracks. Her husband, an explosives expert in the Civil Guard and the main suspect, asks for her help in finding his wife’s killer.

Together with her friend Rafa Miralles, chief inspector of the Oviedo police, Gracia begins an investigation that will take her on the hunt for a murderer across several European capitals.

At the same time, Gracia’s personal life is falling apart. Her marriage to Jorge is going through a rough patch, and her reputation as an investigator is in jeopardy after she accused a public official with multiple sclerosis of faking his illness in order to compete in the most extreme triathlon event—the Ironman.
