A recipient of the prestigious Fulbright Scholarship in 2012, he earned his MA in Writing and Publishing from DePaul University in Chicago, one of the cultural capitals of the United States.
His first novel, El sonido de Atlantis (Algaida), won the Logroño Novel Prize for Young Writers in 2017, establishing him as one of the most promising emerging voices of his generation. A lifelong lover of children’s and young adult literature, he grew up captivated by haunted houses, scary stories, and treasure hunts. There’s nothing like a good adventure!
He has contributed on several occasions to the popular science magazine for children Principia Kids, as well as to the American publisher KiwiCo, with whom he published his novella Chasing Spanish Treasure in 2023.
Currently, Borja devotes his time to teaching academic and creative writing at IE University and to creating incredible worlds, whether through drawings or words. Los Bregonautas, his middle-grade debut, is a trilogy where mystery, magic, and friendship coexist with the occasional ghost up to its old tricks.
The adventure, boys and girls, has only just begun.
