Marvin Molar was born with tiny tadpole-like legs (no longer than eight centimeters). His elephantine arms make up for it—fifty-six centimeters in diameter and so strong that he can balance on the tip of a single finger. In fact, he makes a living doing just that. He is also deaf and mute. But worst of all, he bears a gypsy curse: “May you find a pussy that fits you perfectly!” And the pussy he finds is Hester’s, who at first seems like a normal girl. Hester insists on moving into Al Molarski’s Fireman’s Gym, where Marvin has been living since he was abandoned as a baby. Marvin resists. So does Al Molarski. The two notorious boxers who live and train at the gym are left stunned and excited at the prospect of a new tenant. But whatever Hester wants, Hester gets, setting the stage for catastrophe.
