2026

During the final year of the Spanish dictatorship, escalating repression and fear take hold of the country.
Garbiñe and Anxela, two innocent young women, find themselves locked away in a Francoist institution hidden in plain sight: the Board for the Protection of Women.

Soon, the two inmates discover the horrors perpetrated in these centers run by religious orders in the service of the state: endless prayers, starvation, forced labor, and the theft of babies leave an indelible mark on their memories and their destinies.

With the help of Sofía, a social worker with whom they share a special gift, will Garbiñe and Anxela manage to escape the hell of the reformatories and reveal to the world the whole truth about the little-known Board?

This historical fiction sheds light on the thousands of women who suffered abuse at the hands of a prison system and who, today, are speaking out thanks to the unwavering struggle of the survivors.
