Ildefonso Falcones
Ildefonso Falcones de Sierra, married and father of four children, is a lawyer practicing in Barcelona. His first novel, La catedral del Mar, became an unprecedented worldwide publishing success and was published in more than forty countries.
He has also received several awards, including the 2006 Euskadi de Plata for the best novel in Spanish, the Qué Leer Award for the best book in Spanish of 2006, the José Manuel Lara Foundation Award for the best-selling novel of 2006, the prestigious Italian Giovanni Boccaccio 2007 Award for best foreign author, and the Fulbert de Chartres Award 2009. His second novel, La mano de Fátima (Grijalbo, 2009), was awarded the Roma Prize 2010.
The second installment of his first novel, Los herederos de la tierra (Grijalbo, 2016), broke sales records once again. Now, nearly a decade later, comes the third installment of the most-read saga of our time: En el amor y en la guerra.
