La lavanda silvestre que iluminó París

MR ediciones 2011

After the thrilling journey through Shanghai, recounted in The White Gardenia of Shanghai, this time Belinda takes us, through a beautiful story of passion and courage, from the poorest neighborhoods of Marseille to the grand concert halls of Paris, from the fields of Provence to the decadent period before World War II in Berlin, and finally to the jazz years in New York.

In the heart of Provence, young Simone Fleurier lives surrounded by the love of her family on a lavender farm facing severe economic hardship. Just when things seem to be improving, her father dies in an accident. Her devastated and impoverished family is forced to send Simone to work as a maid in an old boarding house. Alone and without anyone to support her, her luck begins to change when she befriends Camille Casal, a cold and beautiful young woman devoted to the theater, who introduces her to the world of performance and its splendor.

Gradually, a dream begins to bloom in Simone’s heart: to become the most extraordinary dancer and singer in all of France.
