La dama de Anboto

Legends as an inexhaustible source of Galician and Basque culture. Inspectors Galdós and Lasarte arrive in Portomarín to investigate the death of a woman who disappeared seven years ago in the Basque Country. No one had heard from her during all that time, and now she has been found dead—murdered, it seems. But why so many kilometers away?

Even more unsettling is that her sister, Amalur, disappeared in the same manner twenty-one years ago, and there has still been no news of her. The day and place repeat themselves, but with years of difference: a summer solstice in the mountains of Euskadi, specifically at the peak of Anboto, near the cave of Mari. According to legend, if you encounter a beautiful woman there and she asks you a question, it is best to be truthful—lie, and the worst misfortune will befall you; tell the truth, and she will grant your deepest desire.

Is there truly a connection between these women and this cave? Inspectors Bibiana Galdós and Lasarte travel from Galicia to the Basque Country to uncover what lies behind the mystery. Suddenly, everything is set in motion, and dangers loom, turning the investigation into a race against time to discover what has been hidden for so many years. The closer they get to uncovering the connection, the closer the truth comes—perhaps more than anyone was prepared to face. Murders and family secrets unfold in a rural setting, with mystery and tension sustained until the very last moment.
