Matthew Cowart, a renowned and well-established Miami journalist, receives a letter from a death row inmate claiming to be innocent. Thanks to his investigation, he uncovers information that leads to the release of the convict, Robert Earl Ferguson.

However, to his horror, Cowart realizes he has unleashed a terrifying killing machine.
