In 1568, in the valleys and mountains of the Alpujarras, the cry of rebellion has erupted: fed up with injustice, exploitation, and humiliation, the Moriscos rise against the Christians, beginning an unequal struggle that can only end in their defeat and dispersal throughout the kingdom of Castile.
Among the rebels is young Hernando. The son of a Morisca and the priest who violated her, he is rejected by the Moriscos because of his origin, and by the Christians because of the culture and customs of his family.
