Feria de sombras

IN THE MIDST OF THE APRIL FAIR

SOME DANCE, OTHERS KILL

With a novel that casts shadows over the April Fair, Reyes Vargas inaugurates a new era for Southern crime fiction.

A Sunday afternoon at Seville’s April Fair. The discovery of a lifeless body on the tracks of the “Mansion of Terror” interrupts the revelry of the celebrations: it is Pelayo Acuña, a well-known member of Seville’s social elite. Two days later, at a crowded fairground tent, a two-year-old boy disappears after responding to his father’s call.

Thus begins a dual investigation led by Jara Vega, inspector of the Homicide Brigade, who must unravel the details of the murder while coping with the pain of her own family loss. Gradually, Inspector Vega will uncover that both events are part of a conspiracy far darker than she ever imagined.
