Gracia San Sebastián, a financial fraud investigator, is involved in the disappearance of a young psychologist, Imelda Alborán, whom they find a few days later beheaded on the train tracks. The husband, a pólice man and the main suspect in the investigation, asks Gracia for help to discover his wife's killer when it was discovered at the autopsy that Imelda was pregnant from her lover, Pelayo Granda, a middle-aged businessman, who runs business of luxury prostitution. Together with his friend Rafa Miralles, police commissioner of Oviedo, he will begin an investigation that will lead them to hunt a murderer in different capitals of Europe. At the same time, Grace's life is falling apart. The relationship with Jorge, her husband, goes through a critical moment. They have been separated for three months and he is about to move to New York. Also her reputation as a researcher is questioned after bringing an officer with multiple sclerosis to trial accusing him of faking his illness to compete in the most extreme form of triathlon: the Ironman. Grace, convinced that something does not fit the official's story, tries to repair her mistake.
